Now this is the section that a lot of cast members use to talk about their accomplishments or what they like to do ... but I figured those questions get answered later anyway, so I wanted to take this space and opportunity to talk to you about Breast Cancer. I want to encourage everyone to do their month self-breast exams (or have someone do it for you -- that’s really what Rocky was doing for Janet). Save the Boobies!! Early detection is key for surviving it.

I was diagnosed with breast cancer a week before my birthday in March of 2004 (I’ve been in remission since June of 2005). I don’t want to go into detail here ... and don’t want to bum anyone out -- but just want people to realize how serious it is, and how treatable it is with early diagnosis. So ... please, do your monthly self exams (boys, you too ... men get it as well), and stay fit or get into shape now (it was because I had been physically fit prior too the cancer that I could battle it as I did -- they nuked the hell out of me).

I am a Barely Legal Crowd Pleaser (Transylvanian)
What made you want to join Barely Legal?
There were several factors that went into my decision to join B.L. First and foremost would be my love of performing, sparkling, and dancing -- for an audience.

I got my start in Rocky Horror with the cast of Indecent Exposure in Berkeley when I was still in high school (started seeing the movie when I was 14 -- they didn’t card back then!). I started life there as a Transylvanian, then moved on to Trixie, Magenta, Janet and Columbia (in that order ... and sometimes out of that order). I was in I.E. for 8 years, and then I retired. Sooooo, through the years I have come to see Barely Legal to get my RHPS fix.

I had come the show a few times recently and at one of them was approached about possibly being a crowd pleaser. At first I thought I wouldn’t have time, and was it something I really wanted to do -- again. But the seeds were planted in my head and I found that I couldn’t stop thinking about it. I am nocturnal, and up till the wee hours of the morning anyway, and realized that I did have time and I did want to do it (I had heard many great things about the cast) ... and jumped in feet first ... so here I am!
What appeals to you about Rocky Horror?
The glitz and the glamour. I love the fact that you can wear ANYTHING to RHPS and feel right at home. I have always love to dress it up ... very glamorous and sparkly, and this gives me a place to do just that. I love the party atmosphere ... I love to dance and ham it up (although in small groups I am quite quiet, believe it or not :LOL:). I love to get people to come out of their shell and/or their comfort zone and have fun. To release their inner Wild Child ... this is the perfect place for people to do that. I love the longevity of it all.
What is your favorite Rocky Horror related moment?
Wow ... so many, it’s like asking a mother to chose which child is her favorite -- if she had 10,000 of them. My favorite moments would be the AIDS and various charity benefits that we did, performing for sold out shows of 1500+, my Marilyn Monroe and Madonna pre-shows (mad love and shouts out to Jose and Sonia!!), our traveling shows ... and how can I forget -- being the Columbia for ‘Hot Patootie’ and ‘Floorshow’ in Hollywood on the 20th Century back lot for the 15th Anniversary -- and performing for Tim Curry, Richard O’brien, Patricia Quinn, Little Nell ... etc. I am also the Columbia tap dancing down the island with theater marquees flashing past me on the 15th Anniversary release of the movie on VHS. And this doesn’t even begin to mention all the parties and festivities associated with being in cast(s). And the lifelong friends (who I now consider my family) I have made along the way. Rocky Horror is my comfort food ... and it burns in my blood.
What do you do when you're not at Rocky Horror?
What don’t I do might be a better question :LOL: I am a mommy to two gorgeous little girls, I own/run my own business -- a cute little tea room, I am a Jazzercise instructor. I love to decorate and do D.I.Y. projects (just call me Handy Sandie). I LOVE to travel. I love to go out with friends (or have them over) to have cocktails, go dancing, see live theater -- comedy clubs ... you name it, I do it :LOL: I am adventurous, nd I love to race around in my Mustang! And sometimes I even like to be alone just curled up quietly watching a movie in front of the fire.

I feel like I’ve lived a thousand lives ... and still have a thousand left to live!!
Aside from Rocky, what is your favorite obsession?
Hot guys and cool cars :LOL: The strange and unusual, vampires, Champagne, shiny sparkly things, PEZ, Tinkerbell (my daughter middle name is even Tinkerbell!), and of course, it goes with out saying ... Marilyn Monroe and The Munsters!! Although I like to consider myself passionate about things, rather than OBSESSED :LOL: AND Johnny Depp ... my future husband!
